"Sometimes a break from the demands of anatomy and figure placement are just what the doctor ordered. I greatly enjoy painting small landscapes in the studio and outside as wonderful changes of pace in between major projects. They are finished in one or two sessions, unlike more complex westerns that take days or weeks to complete; and I always find that I learn something!"
